What is the purpose of the silencer adapter for Walther P22?

The silencer adapter for Walther P22 turns the M8x0.75 thread of your pistol into a 1/2 UNF (1/2×20 TPI) or 1/2 UNEF (1/2×28 TPI) thread. It consists of two sections. The first one is screwed on the gun barrel (inside the slide for a Walther P22). The second one protrudes from the slide to provide you with a usable accessory thread. So it is on this one that you will screw on your suppressor, to enjoy quieter shots.

So much so that we sometimes refer to the M8x0.75 as the “Walther thread”, like if the brand had its exclusive. As a result, this silencer adapter for Walther P22 can also be used on a Walther P22Q pistol, a Walther SP22 M1, a Walther 1911 A1, a Smith & Wesson M&P22 pistol (only those made by Walther), a Walther Colt M4 rimfire rifle, a Walther HK416 rimfire rifle, a Walther Colt M16 rimfire rifle and many more. Once the silencer adapter is put on your pistol (or your. 22 LR rifle), you can screw any suppressor to the 1/2×20 TPI thread (also known as 1/2 UNF) or 1/2×28 TPI thread (also known as 1/2 UNEF). Choose the thread that match your silencer when placing your order. As a reminder, the 1/2×20 TPI is the standard thread for .22 LR silencers in Europe, and the 1/2×28 TPI is the standard thread of .22 caliber silencers in the USA. Major brands of suppressors produce their silencers in both threads to please all shooters.
